Film in Theory

Structuralism:

Structuralist film theory emphasizes how films convey meaning through the use of codes and conventions not dissimilar to the way languages are used to construct meaning in communication.

Semiotics:

Semiotic analysis is a way to explain how an audience makes meaning from codes. All meaning is encoded in that which creates the meaning.

Auteur theory:

Theory of filmmaking in which the director is viewed as the major creative force in a motion picture.

Psychoanalytic:

Psychoanalytic film theory is a school of academic thought that evokes of the concepts of psychoanalysts Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. The theory is closely tied to Critical theory, Marxist film theory, and Apparatus theory.

Old  films  for new In this report I have chosen to explain the remake and original version of the film 'Robocop'. RoboCop  is a 1987 American  cyberpunk   action film directed by  Paul Verhoeven  and written by  Edward Neumeier  and Michael Miner. The film cast consisted of  Peter Weller ,  Nancy Allen ,  Dan O'Herlihy ,  Kurtwood Smith ,  Miguel Ferrer , and  Ronny Cox .  The film was set in Detroit, Michigan, in the near future,  RoboCop  was created from police officer Alex Murphy who is murdered by a gang of criminals and then brought back to life by  the  megacorporation   Omni Consumer Products   as a superhuman  cyborg  law enforcer known as  RoboCop .
